TREATMENTS
- Acupuncture, Acupressure, and Auricular Therapy: Each acupuncture treatment is specifically tailored to your needs and complaints. In addition to traditional acupuncture treatment, I am also skilled in using acupressure – a “pin-point” massage technique using fingers, which supplements and enhances the benefits of acupuncture. Auricular Therapy, a specialized acupuncture of the ears, is very useful for the treatment of addictive disorders.
- Cosmetic Acupuncture / Facial Rejuvenation: I use a special protocol of acupuncture points on the face in order to achieve an all-natural “face lift.” Here are some results:
- Increased blood flow to the face tightens the skin and produces a youthful glow.
- The appearance of wrinkles and fine lines is visibly reduced.
- Sagging skin are lifted.
- You feel energized and ready to take on the day.
- Electrical Stimulation: This is where ancient Chinese practices meet modern-day technology. With acupuncture needles inserted into prescribed points on the patient’s body, electrodes are connected to the needles at one end and to a small current-generating machine at the other. Mild electrical current is then turned on for brief periods of time and sent through the appropriate acupuncture meridian. This treatment is not at all uncomfortable, and is one of the most effective ways of relieving muscle and joint pain.
- Heat Treatment: We use a specially-built lamp that concentrates soothing heat to relax muscles and relieve pain. Many patients especially enjoy the “heat lamp” component of our treatments.
- Cupping is a method of applying pressure to acupuncture points (a kind of massage) by creating a vacuum next to the skin. The treatment consists of applying heated glass cups (specially made for the purpose) to various prescribed points, typically on the patient’s back. Most often I use a “sliding cup” technique, sliding one or more cups along prescribed channels on the body in order aid in relieving Qi stagnation. Cups can also be left in place for 15-20 minutes, and this “fixed cup” method is especially useful in relieving respiratory conditions, such as cold and flu, pneumonia and bronchitis.
Lifestyle Counseling: Our practice is about much more than treating your symptoms. In the course of a treatment program, I will share with you the ancient Chinese wisdom regarding nutrition, sleep pattern, relaxation techniques, and general fitness. |
